A bit about myself

I’m a short, feisty Canadian girl with a desire to change the world. Some say that’s unreasonable, that it’s impossible but I’m going to do my best to make this world a better place, whether it be by saving a life or just flashing a quick smile as people walk by. I tend to have a bit of a wild imagination at times and daydream on a daily basis (especially on the bus, can’t count how many times I’ve nearly missed my stop). I can be quite the pessimist and cynic at times, but I truly do have good intentions. Sometimes I just really feel as though I can’t handle the world in its current state. I work as a Lifeguard at the local YMCA, teaching lessons and guarding. I speak French pretty fluently, albeit I’m no master at it as I live in a English-based community. I like to consider myself a bit of a “Jack of all trades, master of none” type of girl.

I do and have done a variety of sports. As a kid, my parents wanted me to do as much as they could and put me in a range of different sports to promote good health. I started out in swimming and gymnastics, made my way through Soccer, Dancing, Tae Kwon Do, Basketball and Track and field. As I hit high school, I was convinced to join a softball team with some of my old school mates and have loved it ever since. Played for my home towns travelling team twice, though the third year my job prevented me from continuing. As I hit 11th grade, my school made a wrestling team and my friend insisted we try out. I wasn’t much into the idea at first but gave in afterward. I ended up being the one to stay in the sport and gathered a few medals to show for it. In my second year I even managed to make it to provincials and won my first two matches. Finally in twelfth grade, we gained a flag football team in which I played in and greatly enjoyed. I was sad to see that I’d only be able to play it for one year but it was a great experience for me. Currently I only play softball and swim as a hobby, though I’m considering joining my university wrestling team next year if time allows it.

Sketching is something I adore to do in my spare time, though I never feel my works are good enough and rarely finish them. There are a number of unfinished works in the many sketchbooks I own, yet I haven’t the heart to try and finish them. I’m afraid to ruin them or to loose memory of trying to draw it in the first place. I find that if something doesn’t get finished right away, then maybe it wasn’t meant to be finished. Might be a weird way of thinking but it makes it easier to move on to bigger and better things, rather than mulling about the past. You will probably catch me doodling almost anywhere where there’s a pencil and a page, especially in school notes.

Video games are a big deal to me. Give me a controller and I will be down for anything, be it Wii, Xbox or Playstation. I tend to stick more to the RPGS and Wii games, though I’m starting to get the hang of shooters. The best RPGS in my opinion are the Kingdom Hearts series, the Tales series (Symphonia has to be my all time favourite though) and the Final Fantasy series. You’ll catch me playing Left for Dead quite often, along with Dead Island. What can I say, guys? I have a thing for the zombie apocalypse!

My musical interests vary greatly. I pretty much listen to everything and anything, though I have a tendency of favouring heavier music or anything electric. It’s safe to say that the band I hold above all else is Enter Shikari, not only for their insane live shows, amazing music and good hearts, but for the simple fact that they’re the reason I am who I am today. I can honestly swear to you that they have completely changed my outlook on life and have made me a better person. I also have a slight guilty pleasure for boybands and top forties music at the moment, though that tends to shift often so we’ll see a couple months from now how I feel. Though I have no musical experience myself, I’m very keen on learning how to play the drums or the piano.
